Kali is a member of the firm’s Matrimonial and Family Law department. Prior to joining the firm, Kali completed a dual clerkship for the Honorable Bonnie J. Mizdol of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Bergen County. Upon commencement of Kali’s clerkship, Judge Mizdol was serving as the Presiding Judge of the Family Part in Bergen County. In this position, Kali assisted Judge Mizdol in a wide range of family matters, including non-dissolution, pre- and post-judgment dissolution, and domestic violence actions.
In May of 2015, Judge Mizdol was elevated to the position of Assignment Judge of the Superior Court in Bergen County. Kali accompanied Judge Mizdol in the transition and served the remainder of her clerkship as judicial law clerk to the Assignment Judge. In that capacity, Kali assisted Judge Mizdol in various civil and chancery matters, as well as a number of Judge Mizdol’s oldest, most complicated, and/or most high-profile family cases, over which her Honor continued to preside after being elevated.
Kali completed her undergraduate education at the University of Delaware, where she graduated with a major in Sociology and a minor in Philosophy. She received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. During law school, Kali first worked for the Bankruptcy Litigation Department of AIG, and later worked for Power Law Firm, a boutique estate-planning firm. In addition, Kali completed two clinics during law school. She completed the S.D.N.Y. Representation in Mediation Practicum, where she was trained in mediation and negotiation skills and applied those skills in her representation of otherwise pro se litigants in employment related disputes. Kali was also a part of Seton Hall University’s Center for Social Justice, where she participated in the Civil Rights and Constitutional Litigation Clinic.
In addition, Kali received specialized Family Law training from the Rutgers University School of Social Work – The New Jersey Child Support Institute. She also completed mediation and conciliation skills training with New Jersey’s Administrative Offices of the Courts. Kali is admitted to practice before the state courts of New Jersey and New York. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association, and the Barry I. Croland Family Law Inns of Court.
